What are we doing here?

My dad once led an entire church band on his very first Sunday in a brand new church with a brand new song they had never played before. He shrugged, tapped his music stand and said, "Welp, it's in the key of B flat and it goes like this..."
That is has been the springboard from which I have lived my adult life. It may be disconcerting to you that I am starting out this way. But for him and now for me, it's all the more fun knowing we are embarking on a beautiful performance with no score. No guide. For him, and now for me, that is what makes it a challenge worthy of our energy.
Nervous? Me too!! But if my dad taught me anything, it was to jump and figure it out on the way down. Full commitment. No safety net. It was do or die. FOR ALL THE GLORY!
Dad, I get it. I'm here. I'm ready. "It's in the key of B flat and it goes like this..."
