I chase no one

My entire life has been about the chase.
The next goal.
The big show.
The applause.
The affirmation.
The validation.
Brokenness has a distinctly poignant way of forcing one to focus on such matters. Today begins the work of dismantling this doctrine in my life. I want a life well-lived and easily-loved. I want an armful of friends and a houseful of peace.
I want success on my terms not on yours. I don't care how you did it, how you see it, or how you expect me to do it. But probably grandest of all, I don't care if you think it is valid or worthy.
This applies to your opinions on me as well.
